In Russia's southern and eastern regions, "CRYSTAL WATER" is a well-known brand of perfume. They have been active on the market for far longer than 15 years. They were one of my first clients. I'll talk about how I contributed to the branding when they merged with "AL-MIDANI," another perfume company.

CRYSTAL WATER AND AL-MIDANI

Even if merging is challenging, it is nonetheless a strategy. The fact that they wanted to depict the merger on the emblem caused problems. And as you can see in this image PIC (1), they were able to combine the two logos into one. I won't get into the specifics of why this is bad.

I began by suggesting that the name was too complicated and lengthy and I explained why. As you can see, "CRYSTAL WATER AND AL-MIDANI" is rather unsettling. One great thing is that I was invited to participate in the process of naming the brand. After many hours of discussion, we all agreed on the names "CRYSTA & MIDAIN" or "CRYSTAL MIDANI". Still way much better than “CRYSTAL WATER AND AL-MIDANI”. It was quite challenging to get everyone on board with the key images and mood board I designed based on that because the merger included more partners, making it harder to get everyone's vote on a particular issue. After numerous lengthy discussions, the issue has now been resolved. I then started working on my project. I sent them the variations. PIC (2) that I had developed. No. 4 was the winner. Liked this one as well. I designed the logo with its digital applicability in mind. Yet, given that most customers prefer to physically visit stores and interact with things, they are not very interested in online sales at the moment. Everyone seemed content, and it was enjoyable to watch my work in action.

Follow-up

One of the most important aspects was the client's trust and positive relationship. Being in the room where important decisions were made also had a significant impact on how I viewed my work. I not only create beautiful designs, but I also find solutions to problems, which I began to focus on in the coming years.
